In partnership with Trying Together (PAEYC at the time), Message from Me began in 2009 with the hope that we could create a tool that better connects parents and guardians to children as they spend their day at pre-school. Initial pilots occurred at Carnegie Mellon University's Children's School. These pilots tested usability while providing design insight for the kiosks. The kiosk with a digital camera and microphone eventually became an app that could be used on ipads in the different centers. Today, Message from Me is used in over 200 centers and has begun expanding into lower elementary school.

Initial development and pilots with AIU3 and the Pittsburgh Public Schools were funded by the Sprout Fund, the Grable Foundation, and the PNC Foundation. Today, the PNC Foundation continues to support the development and use of Message from Me in classroom and centers across the country.
